Notions alert - the 'world's most expensive crisps' cost €51 for a box of five
WE’RE PARTIAL TO the odd ‘notions crisp’, but not this. Never this.
Swedish brewery St Erik has brought out the ‘world’s most exclusive crisps’, specially designed to be eaten with their beer.
A spokesperson for the company said that basically, cheap crisps were ruining the experience of drinking St Erik’s:
A single box, containing five crisps (not five bags, five crisps) costs €51. A mere €10 a crisp! Sure that’s nothing.
The snacks are made from Ammarnas potatoes which, according to Ateriet.com, are in limited supply due to them being harvested by hand off a stony slope inaccessible to modern agricultural machinery. So there.
But what kind of flavours are involved?
We may be wrong, but that appears to all add up to a very posh cheese and onion crisp.
Only 100 boxes of the crisps were made available, and as Adweek reports, they’re already sold out.
Guess we’ll just have to go for a simple packet of Tayto, like the peasants we are. Woe is us…
